INDIGENOUS PLATFORM

Government agencies usually mandate, and many national educational and research institutions prefer, to deposit biodiversity data in government-supported projects and Indian platforms. BioAtlasIndia websites help build biodiversity-related databases and other resources on a home-grown citizen science platform, custom-made for the country, and hosted in a national research institution that is supported and funded by the Govt. of India.
